I just purchased an Arlo home security system and so far I'm very pleased with its performance. I have one suggestion for configuring camera recording triggers that I believe could make the system a little more effective.
Could the controlling server software be updated to include the option for the triggering of one camera to cause the immediate triggering of another camera in the network. For example; I have a camera on the front porch. I've noticed that there is a slight delay in the trigger action such that I have had packages delivered at my front door, but the camera never triggered even though the activity was center frame. This was probably due to how quickly the package was left. I have had the occasion to see the UPS and USPS deliveries and often they barely step on the porch placing a light package quickly at the front door with an out-stretched arm, turn and leave, literally in 2 seconds or less. I have upped the trigger sensitivity level but haven't noticed any changes yet. So, I'm going to get a fifth camera and point it at the path leading up to my front door.
It would be useful if any trigger of the camera pointing at my front door path also immediately triggered the front porch camera so that it was already recording before any motion occurred within frame. A simple list of other cameras in the network with check boxes to indicate if they should be triggered at the same time as the parent camera triggered. If you want to enable bi-directional triggering then you would need to change the child camera associated trigger settings for both cameras. Ideally, there could be a second option to enable bi-directional triggering so that it wasn't necessary to have to go to the configuration settings for both cameras to setup a bi-directional triggering relationship.
Is this possible, or is individual camera triggering not possible from the server. Seems like the facilities provided for camera setup and testing already have this capability.

This is already possible. Edit your modes or create a new one (if creating a new one, you'll need to reedit it to add additional rules to allow this to happen). AT first, you pick the camera that detects motion and then, in a second step, pick a camera to record on. Be sure to save. Thus:
Camera 1 detects, camera 1 records
Camera 1 detects, camera 2 records
Camera 2 detects, camera 2 records
Camera 2 detects, camera 1 records
All in one mode with several rules.

There is a slight lag before a camera triggers, so you may miss a second or two of activity when something moving comes into the frame of a camera view. By allowing nearby cameras that have already triggered to effectively ping the related cameras nearby so they can start recording, you avoid the slight amount of time required for the related cameras to trigger independently.
