Very useful thread.
Can any of you guys please provide an update on how these batteries (especially the protected ones) are going after several months of use. Similar usage times to those above - better, worse ?
Has anyone tried the Olight 650mAh (the greenish-blue batteries) ?
Thanks

First, heavy use vs long term usage is very different... they don't really compare re the mins of record time. Long term use in spec the OEM do better, short-heavy usage the rechargeables shine.
After several months of use . ALL the brands of rechargeables I have used stabilized ... not much off from the first couple full charges.
Low mahr ( about 450-500 cells from china ) cells lasted avg for me about 35-40 days on avg. The known better cells with pcb's run about 55-60 days ( such as the nitecores and eagletechs ( olight is also up ther tho i haven't tested myself )
you must decide what type of usage you nedd/want.

Thanks for the update. I definitely want rechargeables, not primary, even though I don't think my daily use will be very heavy. I have two cameras that have averaged about 4 minutes/day, and the other two about 8-10 minutes/day. It has only been 3 weeks so far and I have been experimenting a fair bit.
Ideally I would like to go with either NiteCore or Olight because they seem to be the easier protected batteries to get in Australia, with Nitecore being more costly. I assume from the comments here that the Nitecores fit OK, even though they are supposed to be 34.9mm long, which is a fair bit longer than the OEM primaries ?
Thanks

I ordered 24 Nitecores about a month or two ago from Fasttech.com for a little over US$6 per battery. Have only one set of four in use currently, but so far no complaints. The battery gauge on the Arlo Camera page will start with 2 out of 3 bars when freshly charged Nitecores are used.
Also got the Nitecore D4 charger at the same time from Amazon (US). Nice piece of equipment. LC-Display giving data on charge current, voltage and elapsed charging time; individually, for each of the four charging channels.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know that the Nitecores fit OK. I have also ordered a Nitecore D4 charger, but from FastTech, but still waiting fot it to arrive. FastTech as been a bit slow - took 10 days to get from ordered to "Departed on flight from origin", then another 2 weeks to get to "Departed from sorting hub".
I have no idea whether these things are moving from China to Australia via Sweden (Swedish post), or if the sorting hub they are referring to is in Australia (Australia Post has not recorded anything yet) ?

This is the best price I have seen on Nitecores.
