Have been reading around the forum and elsewhere about these cameras and I'm interested so I'll be ordering some very soon. Do have a few questions to ask before hand though
1) I'm going to be using 2-3 wireless Arlos outside as I'm told they're waterproof. What outdoor mount do I need? Will any do for any CCTV camera?
2) Is the Base a must to use the cameras? People call it a router however I of course already have a pretty good one, so can I just plug the Base in anywhere and connect it to the Internet via either WiFi or ethernet or must it be the main router?
3) I'm thinking about rechargeable batteries and from what I read the best charger is the D4 and the best batteries are the EagleTec? Basically looking for the ones that last the longest, any models would help as all the links in threads seems to be US only.
4) Anything you wish you knew before buying? Or anything you'd recommend doing or not doing to new buyers?
Thanks a lot for all your help in advance 🙂

Any mount that uses the standard 1/4-20 thread will work.

The base is required unless you have the Netgear R7000 router with appropriate firmware.

I have the D4 and one set of Eagletacs. You pays your money and you takes your choice. You won't go wrong with these but there are options.

One size does not fit all. I've had few problems with mine but others either can't or won't follow directions and suggestions to maximize the system's utility. Realistically, you have to do potentially a lot of trial and error to get the system to work the way you want it. Will it work for you? Only you can say. We can provide suggestions but ultimately it's your call.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
In regards to the base, so it needs to be plugged in near to my current router then? And connected via ethernet?
And yeah was just looking for people's opnions after using the system for a couple of months. I find it useful to see what people like and don't like 🙂

No, the base doesn't need to be near the router but it does require Ethernet. You can use a long cable or a WiFi extender with an Ethernet port to place the base where it has the best signal for your purposes.
