Is the system working if the basestation is cut off the powersource?

As mentioned, if power is cut to the Arlo base... it's dead.

Thats why myself and others here run a UPS on the arlo base along with the cable modem... if they don't lose power it's still functional.

So your using a wireless router w/ ups and connecting it via ethernet cable to the base station? Or what am I not understanding?

The ups powers the modem,router and arlo base. If power goes down Arlo still functions.
