vms3430 PURCHASED JB HI-FI Western Australia in 2016

My Model option not shown above. Purchased 4 camera set Model VMS3430 in 2016 at JB Hi-Fi Australia

Invading neighbour into my back garden, reason for installing cameras, has rendered my ARLO CAMERAS USELESS with I assume a sweeping laser inhibitor. When I move the camera red light goes back on but only for seconds and then red light cuts out no matter where I place in my back garden.

SO WHAT NOW - GUESS FORGET IT AND SAVE ON BATTERIES 

MY ONLY OPTION IS TO GET A LARGE DOG

What "Red light" are you referring to? It sounds like you may be describing the IR LED (these turn on in low light conditions). These will only be lit while the camera is detecting motion which could result in the behavior you describe. Is motion being detecting by the camera and are recordings arriving in your library?
