Thank you Guru. I tried a d-link switch, I can only put it between the modem and the router,
since the apple router has only one port. Either the router worked or the arlo station worked,
not both. Any ideas?

Confirm that you have an Ethernet cable from your modem to the switch then you have plugged the apple device and the orbi base into two of the ports on the switch?
Look at the two ports you have used, are the little led lights on corresponding to those two ports?

Thank you Streak. I installed switch like you said. All lights are green on switch. The
schematic with the switch is simple. The switch is installed after the router on their schematic.
Let me ask the board another question:
I have four computers in the house and all of my guests use Wi-Fi, All using the router.
Can I make the Arlo base station Wi-Fi with some adapter in the Arlo eithernet port?

guru: I greatly appreciate your comments. I could return the switch and buy an expander,
as you suggest.
I pay 10 dollars a month for a Comcast modem. Would you advise a modem/router with all
of the necessary ports. Over the long run it may be better? Do you think I can find one
compatible with comcast?
