Hullo,

I want to place one camera at the front door and another in the garden.

My wifi router is in my front room and connected to the arlo base station via ethernet cable.\

The camera at the front door connects easily to the arlo base station as the distance is less than 5 metres.

The camera at the back door does not connect as the distance is more than 15 metres away.

If i use a powerline adapter to move the base station closer to the back door will the signal to the front door be broken?

or should the arlo base station be in a central position so that both camera can connect to it?

Centralized would likely help but it also depends on how many walls and floors the signal goes through, ducts, wiring, other devices using the 2.4GHz band (including microwaves), etc. It may be as simple as rotating the base station or moving it a short distance.  A long Ethernet cable or extender can be useful in more extreme cases - it just depends.
