I don't want my phone to ring when someone pushes the doorbell button.... how can I get a quieter tone.

You can prevent the phone call by enabling the silent mode of the doorbell.  After you do that, you'll see separate options to prevent the phone call, and silence the chime. 

So you can continue to have the doorbell ring, but without the phone call.
