It depends. (TM)

If you already have a router, you just plug the base station into an unused Ethernet port. If out of ports, a cheap switch will work to expand capabilities easily.  If you don't have a router of any sort, a cheap one will also suffice but will be needed so the modem will connect to the router and then your computer and base station will connect to the router. This is needed since the modem only supports one device connection (note that some modems are also routers).  A router is a Good Idea anyways to add another level of network security to your local network, even if it's only one computer.
