Hello! We are interested in a camera bundle to help monitor a small farm for predators. We have very bad unreliable internet so cloud storage is not an option, good wifi for our local network, and a large 3rd party USB drive for local video storage. Is there a model cam and smart hub current or older generations that will support night motion detection with alerts  sent to iphones/ipads? Ideally the alerts include still images and links to video.  Thanks for any suggestions!

No, arlo products require the internet to function.

Do you have mobile data cellular coverage? If so you might be able to use the arlo go products.

Satellite internet connection to your network might be another option to consider, it would expand the available products that can be used.

Note: Motion detection range is 25ft and wifi range is max 300ft clear line of sight.

Cell service could be an answer if you installed a hotspot with Ethernet ports. If no ports, a WiFi extender would be needed for the hub to be able to connect. If you go this route, cancel the trial subscriptions for the cameras to eliminate uploading videos to the cloud as a potential breaking point.

Even with poor Internet, you may be able to set up the system and manage it sufficiently while using local recordings. The app and web client both require Internet access so testing would be needed to verify adequate operation.

As mentioned above, the Go 2 using cell service may be the best solution. They also can record locally but you have to safeley eject the card to be able to view the videos.
