Hi
I have recently installed a 3 camera system. Can you advise if the cameras use battery power when in standby mode. The cameras are availble for streaming video if I acess any one of the three. Also once activated to monitor mode how long can one expect a new set of batteries to last assuming an activation time of 8 hours with 5 x 2 minuite recordings on middle power consumption / quality setting. Also can montion detection on one camera activate another to record?
thank you
Shane

First, in standby mode, the cameras almost use no power.
new set of batteries to last assuming an activation time of 8 hours with 5 x 2 minuite recordings on middle power consumption
i would guess about 2-3 months. as spec use is 4 mins per day and your going double.
The only time the camera is using power is in motion detect ( little ) and recording/live view ( the most )... But in normal spec usage ( 4 mins per day / optimized video settings ) batteries should last 4 months or more. ( I use my cams about spec in best video mode and avg very close to 4 months. Other cams I use very little and the batteries lasted almost 7 months )
Also can montion detection on one camera activate another to record?
yes... very common usage in large open areas or where 2 cameras cover a section.
You have cam A and B,
make #1 rule if motion on 1, record on 1
make #2 rule if motion on 1, record on 2
Put them checked on and activate them in a new Mode
