Sure it will... Have done it many times watching my elderly cat.

but remember, a cat is smaller than a person and it helps to bring the camera down to their level.

As mentioned... cats are much smaller than people and put out a lower IR signature... IR is how the camera detects motion.

You'll have to bring the camera down and closer to the action.

Try and just place a camera on one of the cats's platform as a temp location till you find one that works...  Also there is a sense level adjustment too.

( I run mine about 92% for the cat )
