Will I need a router to plug in my base station?

MY QUESTION THIS EVENING IS THIS. WILL I NEED A ROUTER TO PLUG MY BASE UNIT TO NOW THAT I HAVE MOVE I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW PRIVATE WIFI. SO DO GET THE ROUTER AND PLUG MY NETGEAR TO IT AND THEN LET THE ROUTER PING MY PRIVATE HOTBOX, AND IF SO WHAT TYPE OF ROUTER DO I USE STANDARD TWO , THREE STAR, OR A 10 STAR, PLEASE ADVISE

Yes the Arlo and Arlo Pro units must be plugged into an Ethernet port...

If you don't have one and are running a hotspot for wifi , you can use a wifi extender with an Ethernet port for the base ( the extender will link into the wifi )
