Why is one camera black and white while others are color. Is there a setting for this ?

Lorenzetti1,

A black and white image indicates that the camera is in Night Vision mode due to lack of ambient light.

This is expected behavior if your camera has Night Vision mode enabled within the camera settings.

If you would like to test this feature, bring your camera to a well lit area and activate the live stream, if the area is well lit, the stream should be in color.

The Night Vision setting doesn't have anything to do with the camera switching to B&W, right? It just enables/disables the IR illuminators.

jguerdat,

The symptom is hand in hand. There is no reason you would see a black and white (grayscale) image if the Night Vision feature is toggled off and there is no other setting that would cause this.

I suspect we're saying the same thing differently. The use of the Night Vision toggle simply enables/disables the IR illuminators but the camera still reacts according to light level - if it drops sufficiently, the camera will switch to B&W to increase sensitivity.  We can agree on that, right?
