I have all the modes and automations set the way I want according to my schedule. What I'm wondering is why all the cameras record when the mode activates? My feed shows when the modes turn on followed by recordings from the cameras assigned to that mode.
For example,
- Arm Away mode turns on all cameras at 1 AM. The mode arms itself and all cameras record.
- Arm Home mode turns on only outside camera at 6 AM. The mode arms itself and the outside camera records.
- Arm Away mode turns on all cameras again at 9 AM. The mode arms and all cameras record again.
- Arm Home turns on only outside camera at 5 PM. the mode arms and the outside camera records again.
Is there a way to have modes turned on without having the cameras record automatically? Not only does it waste battery life but my feed is full of useless recordings.

Yes.
And the automations that switch to Arm Home at 6 am and 5 pm should also be set up this way.

Can you send me a screenshot where all the cameras recorded when the mode was activated. Can you also please bring one camera inside and face it to the wall and see if it triggers motion when the mode switches?

As you can see they all record at the same time when the mode is activated and there is no motion.
Thank you

Just to be clear on this - the schedule automations only change the mode? They have no other action in the action list?

I have them set like this.
I’m assuming that I’m instructing the cameras what to do when motion is sensed.

No. You are telling them to record when the automation runs. The mode change itself arms the cameras.
So delete those record actions. You can also delete the notification action - you will still see when the mode changes in the feed.
