Extremely slow connection and dropped connections.

Hi. I've been using Arlo cameras for several years now and haven't had any problems until recently. The past 2 updates have messed something up. Internet connection is extremely slow to connect now, and I have to close and restart the android app several times just to see a few of the cameras. Two are not even able to connect now. I received an email asking me to check a few things. Nothing has helped. Absolutely nothing has changed in my network in over a year, and that was just the ISP increasing my data plan. That was well before the problem started. I now get 1Gb service, and now I'm seeing over 800 Mbps using my phone wifi connection. The Arlo base station is hard wired to the router so it's not the wifi that is causing the ridiculously slow response. i even replaced the network cable. Nothing has changed except the app version.
I've been an IT tech for 27 years so I'm quite adept at troubleshooting. I'm hope you all have some better suggestions this time. I'm seriously considering replacing my cameras with a different brand. I used to recommend these cameras all the time. I am currently warning my friends to stay away from Arlo until these problems are fixed.

Any useful suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

 

I forgot to mention that the connection to my cameras via the website from my laptop (wifi) is still working fine.

What happens if your phone is not using WiFi (disable it or off-site)? Have you rebooted the phone and reinstalled the app? WHat Internet security software might be installed on the phone?
