Hi Arlo Community!

I was searching for arlo systems in Portugal and found this interesting result.

So, both systems have 3 cameras, are sold on the same store, and have major equalitys in features, however, there is a 400€ gap between them.

Can somebody explain me why is that?

I think they're really great products, but in paper, it seems pretty much the same for the huge price diference.

I leave the link below for you guys to see.

The less expensive system is the original Wire Free HD system. This system uses the cameras that rely on 4 CR 123 Lithium batteries per camera with no authorized way to charge the batteries. The Base unit does not have a siren nor ports for local backup storage.

The more expensive uses the Pro series cameras which use 1 rechargeable battery per camera, siren in the base and 2 ports to insert either flash drives or external hard drives for backup storage along with more advanced features. These cameras can be powered to be always on by plugging the power adapter into AC power, or can be powered by a solar panel which keeps the batteriy charged. This is a much better system.

Hi Brh!

Thank you for your quick reply.

Still seems like a very large difference.

Despite those extra features, we can expect the same video quality from both systems, right?

I am not sure because in the US we have the Pro models which record at 720p and the Pro 2 model which records at 1080p. I am not sure what the Pro Plus is but look to see if it records in 720p or 1080p, (obviously 1080p is superior image quality). So if the cameras record in 1080p they are the equivalent to the Pro 2 series in the US. If it records in 720p it will be the equivalent to the Pro models in the US. There are differences between the two models with pros and cons for each. The less expensive system uses cameras that record in 720p.

I have 3 of the original cameras which have worked well for me. I use them indoors now where it is easy to get to and replace the batteries when needed. I have 3 Pro model cameras mounted high outside powered with the Arlo solar panels so that I don't need to be climbing a ladder to change batteries.
