Recently having video playback issues via the app...note that it's only the app as the web portal has no issues. Clearing the cache and reinstalling the app doesn't help. Speedtest, via WiFi, shows Download - 360 Mbps & Upload - 12 Mbps.

When playing videos on the app, the playback pauses constantly and jumps 2-3 seconds at a time (YouTube video link at bottom), which varies by camera and whether you're trying to play it in Dashboard, Devices or Feed. This only affects video playback and not local live streaming. Below I've listed which scenarios/cameras are affected (yes or no). Note that these results are the same regardless of if I'm on the cell network or via WiFi.

  • Pro 3 Camera (2) - NO

I just tried this on both the web and Android app (6.2.2). I did see slight "stuttering" on occasion but overall the playback was pretty smooth.

Checked again this morning and have the same pause/stutter on the app that it had prior to 6.2.2

Web portal is smooth as ever but it's odd that all the videos on the web portal yesterday, from midnight to 4PM, have that more slight rapid stutter but as long as the web portal is back to normal then I won't worry about it...my concern is that when I first checked 6.2.2, after the update, playback was smooth but now it's back to the pre 6.2.2 pause/stutter.

I just checked videos from a variety of cameras (Q, E2 indoors, Pro 3 floodlight, 1st gen wireless doorbell) and all showed a smooth playback with an occasional "missing frame" (my description) that caused a slight hiccup in the playback. I suppose the issue could be sporadic but I haven't seen that.

Are you still on 6.2.2?

I show that I am now on 6.2.4...release date 07/04/25

The following, below in underlined italics, is what I started this discussion with on 05/02. It all holds true again, after everything had worked flawlessly for a couple of days after the 6.2.2 update...

When playing videos on the app, the playback pauses constantly and jumps 2-3 seconds at a time, which varies by camera and whether you're trying to play it in Dashboard, Devices or Feed. This only affects video playback and not local live streaming or local recordings. Below I've listed which scenarios/cameras are affected (yes or no). Note that these results are the same regardless of if I'm on the cell network or via WiFi.

@BrookeN

So now I'm trying to figure out how it is that I'm on 6.2.4, with the pre 6.2.2 issues having returned, and @jguerdat  is still on 6.2.2 with the pre-6.2.2 issues having been resolved.

I am wondering if it is a signal issue more then the behavior you were seeing previously.

@BrookeN

You mean the signal from the camera to the base?

I wouldn't think so since the behavior is virtually identical in every respect to the pre-6.2.2 fix and, as you saw in the breakdown of cameras/modes (in message 106 & message 1) the Pro 3's which are the farthest, by double from the base, have no issues in Dashboard or Devices and none of the cameras have an issue live streaming.

I'm at a loss since, with 6.2.2 on the 11th, everything was resolved for at least 2-3 maybe 4 days (I didn't pay much attention since the issue was solved) but then on the 15th I discovered the issue had returned. This may be a shot in the dark, since I don't know what day I was updated to 6.2.4_28897 (which oddly enough has a release date of 07/04/25), but could that have anything to do with it?

Is there any way to revert back to 6.2.2 and see what that does?
