Hello,
After years of working fine, all of a sudden I cannot access the local recordings on the USB drive of my Arlo hub. This happens even when I'm on the same network. The message I get has been quoted often: "There was an error obtaining your library. Arlo team is working on this issue."
Recording locally is activated. The USB device shows ready.
Incidentally, I can also not get the port forwarding status to turn green, even though the IP address and ports are matching. This also used to work before. But since I'm in the local network I should be able to access the library anyway.
I reset the hub, I checked the ethernet connection to the router, I reset my smartphone, I logged out and back in of the app, I removed, checked, and reinserted the USB device. The hub runs 1.26.0.0_1812_12a0681 (no updates available).
Does anybody else have the same issues? How to fix it?

Thank you very much for your instruction to upgrade my interface, however should I continue the upgrade process when Arlo app is warning me that my base station VMB4540r3 is currently not being supported (currently not able to use firmware update)?
And unfortunately, the firmware of my VMB4540r3 is 1.27.0.0_1931_03495c2, and there is no more update to be used.

Thank you both for chiming in. I think I'm in the same situation as Pythony (except my VMB4540 is r2. On the app, I have three options (devices, Library, Mode) and run the same version as Pythony.
I am not yet convinced that this depends on the app version. As I wrote earlier, I tried things out with an old app version (5.7.0_28835, on a different phone) and had the same issues. Namely, the reduced menu without the "Direct Storage Access" switch as shown in the screenshot on 2025-05-02 04:53 PM. That make me think it's related to the hub SW not he app SW. The hub SW has been upgraded very recently.
To add to the confusion: after I formatted the USB drive yesterday, the full interface showed up again on the app (with the "Direct Storage Access" switch and with port forwarding status ok). But after a couple of minutes it changed to the screen without the "Direct Storage Access". In between, all I did was trigger an alarm which created a local recording.
It would really be nice if Arlo could comment and clarify the situation regarding access to local recordings.
For reference, these are my current SW versions:
app 6.0.0_28852
hub 1.27.0.0_1931_03495c2
