I recently updated the app (bad decision) and now I can't easily arm/disarm my devices.

I have 2x at the beach house and 4x at my usual home.  I want to easily arm/disarm the beach house when we come/go and likewise with our home.  This was so easy in the old app, just choose which ones to arm/disarm at any time.

Now it automatically arms/disarms all devices which is useless when I want the beach house armed while I'm at home and I dont want our home armed while I'm there (and vice versa)

How do I easily turn individual devices on/armed while keeping others off/disarmed?

There are a lot of use cases that require more than the three built in mode, so hopefully Arlo will be adding back custom modes to the new user interface.

That said, Arlo's terms of service always required one subscription per location, but this was never enforced in the old app.

One option is to create a second location for the beach house, and move the cameras (and base) to that location.  Then you will have the three modes for each location.  But if both the beach house and main house cameras require a subscription for cloud storage, you will need a second one.

Another path is to

  • modify Arm Away so it only includes rules for the two Beach house cameras
  • modify Arm Home so it only includes rules for your main house

Then you can arm the cameras at either house, and disarm all cameras with Standby.  But you won't be able to arm all cameras.

If you want to arm all the cameras, but only rarely need to disarm them all, then a variation is to

  • set Arm Away to arm all the the cameras (likely already is set up this way)
  • modify Arm Home so it only includes rules for your main house
  • modify Standby so it only includes rules for your beach house

Then if you do need to disarm them all for a while, you would put the system into Standby, and then manually turn off the beach house cameras in the camera settings.
