Do these cameras or the base station ever need up dates? How ar ethe updates accomplished if they do need them, are they automatic or some other way to accomplish?

Updates for both have been pushed out automatically on a fairly regular basis. While there's ways to manually force the updates I've had only moderate success as opposed to letting the system work as designed.
