Elapsed time counter continually jumps from actual video elapsed time back to zero and then back to actual elapsed time when viewing videos on the app...note that when viewing videos on the web portal the counter runs smoothly. This happens on both the "feed" and the individual cameras video lists.

Also note that this mostly happens if you view the video withing the first few minutes or so (time varies) of having the list of video thumbnails open. Usually the longer you wait to view a video the better chance you have of the counter running smoothly and not jumping back to zero although sometimes even when waiting 4-5 minutes it still does it...there's no consistency.

Have you tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it?

@BrookeN

Yes, uninstalled & reinstalled a few times but doesn't change. Odd thing is that if I try to view the recording (or any recording) the timer & video skips but if I try the same video a few times over and over then it, and any other video I play, is just fine with no skipping.

@BrookeN I've been seeing this, too, but only on specific cameras. The ones that I've seen doing it are my Q and an E2 Indoor camera. An AVD2001 doorbell, a Pro 3 and an E1 indoor camera don't display this behavior.

Thank you for that information @jguerdat . I have passed this onto our development team. I will keep the update the community as soon as possible.

If you download the video and view it on a PC, do you see the same problem?

@StephenB

Counter runs smooth on a downloaded video. Seems to only be an issue if you run it in the app.

Seems that @jguerdat has the same issue.

It's an app display issue.

I notice that it seems to only be in the first 20 seconds or so of the video. Seems to vary though where it does it in only a couple of videos then is OK, sometimes it does it in every video and sometimes you can go back and start the video over and it's OK...sometimes not. Even when it seems to be better, it will start doing it all over again if you close and reopen the app 🤔

I agree it's inconsistent. I thought it was only happening on some cameras but, nope. It seems to all depend on the time you view it and the phase of the moon.

This likely depends on the protocol being used to stream the recording to the phone. Not handling a timestamp wraparound correctly (similar to when your odometer turns over) would be one possible cause.

Any progress being made on this issue?

Please send a screen recording of what it is you are seeing. Also, are you on an android device or an iOS?

Android...looks like @jguerdat is seeing the same thing

@jguerdat- have you noticed that if you play the video 2-3 times it smooths out and is just fine (still needs to be fixed though)

Nope, haven't tried that. I just did and I can't get it to "stutter" like it has. The only thing different is that I had removed and reinstalled the app for a different issue so maybe that's a fix?

@jguerdat

Interesting...after reading your reply today, I tried it and so far no stutter and I haven't had to reinstall the app for weeks so who knows 🤔

I'll keep checking though so hopefully it's fixed.

Looks like I spoke too soon...the videos still stutter

Are you still seeing this same behavior?

@BrookeN
Hi Brooke,

Doesn't seem to be an issue anymore...thanks for the follow up.

But in a similar situation, although this one is with the web portal and not the app, an issue still exists which involves a problem viewing videos (link attached)

Yes, I have let the development team know that behavior you are seeing. However, I do not have any updates on that as of today.
