Q1:  Do you have to be logged onto your Arlo account to have cameras record?

Q2: Is there away to extend the log-on time on your Arlo account ?...logging in every 20-30 minutes is inconvenient.

Q3: Can the red LED lights be covered up to make the camera less visable? Why or why not?

Thanks,

Hi Plzhelp,

Let me help you with your inquiries.  Here are the answer to your questions:

1. It is not necessary for you to login to your Arlo account for the cameras to record.  Just make sure to set the rules and properly apply the modes that would be necessary for you.  Check these articles below:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/What-are-rules-amp-how-do-I-create-them/ta-p/42

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/What-are-Modes-amp-how-do-I-use-them/ta-p/32

2. Currently, there is no option to extend the log-on time on your Arlo account.   The logon automatically expires when there is no activity detected on your Arlo account.   You may post this concern on this link: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/arlo-idea-exchange

3. I believe the red lights you are pertaining to are the IR (infrared) illuminators.  You can mask (cover) the IR illuminators but you should provide a secondary IR flood light(s) on a different location other the camera if needed.
