Hi all. Very frustrated today. I have 2 original Arlo HD cameras connected via a base station. Every now and then one of them seems to get stuck, which I’ve sorted by deleting and repairing.

today however that didn’t work. Other camera was still working fine at this point. I ended up doing a factory reset on base station, and now neither camera will sync!!

have turned off 5g from WiFi router to force everything to 2.4ghz, have removed batteries from cameras for a few mins.

I’ve ran out of things to try, any ideas ?

This is now resolved.

it was user error - I replaced them with Pro 2 cameras some time ago but completely forgot, so I was trying to add the wrong type of camera. Once I selected pro2 they were both detected with a couple of seconds.

On a side note, I see pro 2 cameras are now EOL with support ending in Jan 26. Do you know if this means some functionality will be lost?

Should add that the base station seems to be working ok, and I can see it’s ssid in WiFi list. Cameras flash blue when sync button is pushed but after several seconds they seem to time out, flash faster blue for a couple seconds before light goes off and app still not recognised it.

Have you factory-reset the cameras, too?

I tried to, but doesn’t seem possible? Hold sync button for 15 seconds or more and nothing happens.

Did you try the push button sync method? Briefly press sync on the the base, then press sync on the cameras.

Yep, no joy.

Did you remove the cameras from your account when you reset the base?  If they are still in the account, they need to be removed before you can re-pair them.

Err no 😔 guess these means I’m stuck and there’s no way to remove them now?

If you are seeing them in the account (but off-line), then you can still remove them.

They’re not in the account.

if I can’t get them going (which is looking likely) which camera would you recommend upgrading to? Don’t want to spend lots. Been looking at the Tapo 2k cameras…

Ok.  Then the system must have removed them when you removed the base.

Over time, Arlo says some features might be lost.

Once obsolete, certain aspects of the Arlo Product may no longer be sold, improved, maintained, serviced,
or supported in Arlo’s ordinary course of business, and these EOL’d Arlo Products may lose some of
their functionality. This loss of functionality may increase over time.

I think the best strategy is to continue to use them and see what happens.
