I kept getting false alarms from one camera whenever therer were spikes in the usage of my home network. At first I thought it was due to a poor signal, but I repositioned my hub and get full signal on all cameras. Every other time there is a sudden demand for bandwith from multiple devices in my home network, one of the cameras will randomly detect motion that is not there. A recording is made, but the duration is random, sometimes it will be just a few seconds, sometimes only 2 seconds (I have it set up to record 20 seconds). I have synced and resync cameras, switched WIFI channels, and moved cameras around from their position, but it continues to happen and it is of course very unnerving to keep getting false alarms (BTW, I can confirm no motion is taking place because I am home and can see right outside the window when the false alarms happen, and no, it is not due to bugs, or sun flares hitting the lens). This has been going on for a few months now. Arlo?

I along with many other user on this forum have report this very issue to Netgear without response,  My problems, which were the same as yours, was resolved after I replaced a defective base. After I replaced the base and let it run on older firmware the problem was solved.  Unfortunately when Netgear came out with their " mandatory" firmware and app update last week my problems returned. I have tried to change camera, change camera locations, move the base unit etc all with no luck.  What has seemed to work was to seriously move the sensitivity down on the camera the was giving me the problem.  For the time being this action has seemed to work.  This problem has cost me money on batteries and hours of trouble shooting. In the end if it continues it will be the straw that breaks the camels back for me and this system.
