Hi

I am looking to try and setup monitoring of a remote area of land I own.

There is power to the site, but no DSL / cable internet.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use a 4G/3G MiFi dongle for the internet connectivity ?

Thanks

Nik

Nik... you need an ethernet connection for the base unit ( base unit creates it's own wifi system for just the cameras )

If your 4g module has one it should work but there may be high usage. 10 secs of video = 1Mb and minimum thruput for upload needs to be about 1Mb/per

Thanks !

Would it be possible to only require upload on motion / direct access, to minimise traffic ?

The camera basicly sits in a sleep mode till in use...it pings the base but that's directly.

the uploading/downloading only occurs during recording/live viewing/viewing past vids. So data only goes up to the cloud and back during actual use.
