Constantly detecting motion and draining battery

We installed 2 cameras on Sunday - bought from costco and there is no model number showing so would assume they are the VMC3030 as that is the only wire free camera listed in the drop down list.  One camera we have mounted out front pointing down to the driveway and getting the front door. The camera constantly takes videos like every minute and there is never anything in the picture except for the 2-3 that should be there. It has eated through 2 sets of batteries and we are on the 3rd set that came with the package.  I have had to just turn it off as we can't figure out why it continually takes videos of nothing. I even tried setting the motion detection down to zilch and it still kept taking videos so have fo now just shut it off.The camera takes some 30 vidoes in a 12 minute period.  Maybe the camera's motion detector is a dud.Anyone else have this problem and how was it resolved?

Swap the cameras to see if the camera has a problem or the location. Maybe stick that camera in a dark room with no motion and see if it continues to record.
