the only thing that worked for me and believe me I tried absolutely everything....was permanently attaching a strong magnet under the camera below the lens...now when switching between infrared and normal you can hear the IR filter clicking on and off...

Good to hear it's working for you.... others have mentioned a magnet but were not as specific.

It is the IR filter getting stuck for whatever reason....If it was mine and no longer under warranty, I might be inclined to take apart and see why it's sticking.
