Hello,
I have set the Arlo Wire Free device against a window (inside)-having it face outside. My main reason for purchase is night surveillance. At its current location, there is a flood light right above, but outside. Using IR is not necessary;there is enough lighting from the flood light. I notice under Settings-->Pan & Zoom, the picture quality is bright and illuminates objects VERY clearly (100%). Comparing to Live view under same night conditions, objects are VERY dark and about 1/3 visibility. When I play back videos from my Library, can I change the recorded lighting to match the Pan & Zoom lighting?? Is there a way to match Live view lighting to current Pan & Zoom lighting??

In Live View, there's a "sun" icon at the bottom you can click on to set brightness. I'm not sure it will make as much of a change as you need but it's worth a try. Make sure you click on the icon again (web) or the "X" (app) to save the setting. Did that get you where you want?
Also, is it possible that interior lighting is confounding the brightness? Try making the room dark to ensure no window reflections are messing up what the camera sees.

I have the same question as Ky. The difference between the image in the pan / zoom and live view is very great.
Purchased a third cam today and I can barely see anything in the position of the camera. All too dark and very hard contrast. Without night vision, it is even worse despite fairly strong lighting
I cannot increase / decrease the light in live view, there will be no change.
While updating with new snapshot in pan / zoom does not work on any camera. Netgear says they solved the problem in another thread.
I use Safari on an Mac

Petran298,
When adjusting brightness there is a slight delay between when you move the slider and when the adjustment is committed. When the adjustment is made, after a slight delay, you will see a notification saying "Brightness Saved".
When you say updating the new snapshot in pan/zoom does not work, are you getting an error message or is the image not the same as what the camera is facing?

JamesC Hi!
I can see some difference now in a little less bright. I'm not getting the message "Brightness Saved" every time I change but it changes the light anyway. There is no big difference, and does not seem to affect the "Night Vision"? Perhaps, this function works but is not sufficient for my new camera to be useful.
When I go to the camera settings, so it shall update the snapshot. I get a moving green bar but the picture does not change. I get an image that is an hour old. Same thing if I press the camera icon. There is no doubt of the old image is in color. Then I tried to log out and log in again. Then I got a current picture from the settings!
The difference between live view and snapshot the settings are great. Could live view be that I would have been happy. Why such a difference?
Here from live view
And here a snapshot from settings
The difference is sometimes considerably greater - here both B/W.

EDIT: Now when check setting I got a great picture. First I thougt it was from earlier this evening but here I cannot see the lamp. Next update gave me a B/W again with poor light?
I checked my two other cameras and they show pictures from 5 pm. The same pictures even with many updates, log out/in. My system live its own life!

Now when I lowered the camera slightly so I have not got the lantern became the image in color and much better!
But only the snapshot from settings.
What if you could get such a recording with the light from the lamp and street light.
