New add on camera quits after one image.

I just tried to install an add-on camera.  I get one image and then it dies.  After resync it will work again, once, and then dies.  I have removed the batteries and started it again.  Same problem.  I have reset the base station, resynced; same problem.  I have tried to use the mini usb feature.  No improvement. It is still a one-shot-wonder.  Battery indicator reports all is well.  Prior to the new camera the system worked fine.  Now it is a bit flaky and the only change is the new camera (brand new sealed box).  The add-on camera is the third one for this system.

I am out of ideas.  What am I missing?

Assuming you mean it's only the camera that's the issue, you could either return the camera for a replacement at the store you purchased it from or submit a trouble ticket for a possible RMA.
