Motion Detection Range

What is the range for the motion detection to work? I have a 2 story house and have mounted the camera under the overhang of the second floor roof.

It is set at 80% but is not picking me up when I walk in front of the house.

Realistically, 10-20 feet with motion across the FOV, starting at an edge.  A common problem is too much scene - position the camera so it only has the actual area of interest in view.  2nd story mounting will make this all difficult.
