Live view in web app not working when connected via VPN

Hi,

 

I tried to view my camera's live view on the web app today via my VPN (CyberGhost UK) and it's not working (Chrome 81).

 

Checking the browser console, there are various net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR errors for various endpoints (seem to change on each attempt):

https://vzwow47-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com:80/open/1
https://vzwow48-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com:80/open/1
https://vzwow50-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com:80/open/1
https://vzwow61-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com:80/open/1
https://vzwow63-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com:80/open/1
etc...

Visiting one of these URLs provides the following Chrome error:

This site can’t provide a secure connection
vzwow93-z1-prod.ar.arlo.com sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

It looks like my VPN's IPs are getting blocked (e.g. 185.253.98.x).

 

Can you stop doing this please? I shouldn't need to stop using my VPN to just use your service.

Have you contacted CyberGhost on this?  I think it's more likely to be their problem than Arlo's.

 

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR isn't the error you'd expect to see if Arlo were somehow blocking CyberGhost.
