Hi,

We have recently bought an Arlo base station (VMB3000) with couple of cameras (and planning to buy more once our testing is completed).

  • Is it possible to route Arlo base station traffic through a proxy server for Internet access?
  • If configuring proxy is not possible, kindly inform the IP address ranges that need to be allowed for enabling base station’s Internet access through firewalls?

Soonest feedback is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Any Internet access configuration has to be in the router, not the base - you simply don't have access to the base for anything.

Ports 80 (http), 443 (https) and 123 (NTP) need to be open to arlo.netgear.com.  Since that address may dynamically change due to DNS and/or load sharing, the specific IP address would likely be useless.  Arlo uses Amazon's AWS servers around the world.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. Based on your reply, I asume:

1- There isn't an available list of IP addresses / ranges that we could allow on our firewall for arlo access (our current firewalls support rules thru IPs).

2- If above is right and we explore some other means to open access through domain names; the domain that we need to open is

    a. arlo.netgear.com.... Is any other domain required to be allowed?

Thanks in advance

1) No.

2) AFAIK, no other domain is required.
