Just purchased the Arlo system with additional cameras. My complaint is when the Arlo camera detects motion the recording is not long enough. I would like to see the recording continuously working as long as motion is detected. Is Arlo working on this problem if not I am going to return the system and buy a more professional unit. The recording should be continuous while motion is being detected.

You need to fill in the gaps. Either you need to use a timed recording up to 2 minutes so you get the whole sequence or, at least, a major portion of it or use the "record as long as motion continues" with the realization that the camera has to be able to detect the continued motion just as it did to start the recording. If the motion is undetectable for any reason, the recording stops. In both of the above cases, recording will resume after a brief reset period as long as motion can be detected.

use the "record as long as motion continues"

I have the first-generation Arlo VMC 3030 camera. When I go into the record settings, there is no option for "record as long as motion continues." Are you referring to Arlo Pro cameras?

If this pertains to my camera as well, how do I set this up?

Thanks.

Yer right - my mistake.

So, your only choice is to find the right length of time that lets you capture all motion. Hopefully the reset time of the camera only causes loss of a few seconds of recording.

I suppose a second camera with a different view could be useful if it's that important.
