Is that a question?

As long as the hotspot has an Ethernet port, it should work. Then it depends on how much recording and viewing you do relative to your data plan.

Sorry about the lack of a ?.  The page on which I was typing would not let me type anymore.

That is my problem.  The hotspot I have does not have an Ethernet port.  So is there a way to put a router or wifi extender with an outgoing Ethernet port between the hotspot and the Arlo base station?  If so what is the equipment model number that should work?

Yes, you could use a WiFi extender that has an Ethernet port on it to connect the base.  As long as the whole system gives you at least a 1Mbs upload speed, things should work fine.  Pick your poison - any such extender should work.  I'd just stay away from cheap, no-name ones.
