According to manual page 43 from 7/16 you can change the network that the base station is accessing. However, the App shows a network button that is clickable but does not open a window for the change.

The reason we bought the equipment was that the access could be changed to the desired network. Looks like arlo is creating it's own network.

Please advise or we have to return the material

Hey there,

Which version of the app are you using? I don't have it in mine.

I actually think it's a typo in the manual as this applies only to Arlo Q's.

Arlo Wireless Base Station requires a WIRED connection to your router and then creates it's own secure wifi network for the Arlo Wireless cameras.

The Cameras can only connect to that network and this cannot be changed.

Also this section of the manual refers to the cameras, not the base station.

Unless I missed something but I doubt it.

thank you. I think you are right about the copy / paste they used for both manuals, the Q and ours.

Their network seems to be designed to use less battery power while a regular connection would drain them too fast.

Still would be nice to configure it as a subnet within the existing config. I guess we'll have to return the stuff.

Yeah, but still, why are you against the Base Station and the Camera having their own closed network?
