I have positioned camera inside a window, to record outside the front dooor of my house.

However, having trouble getting it to detect ahy movement even though field of view is good (from the live video).

Have tried motion detection test and LED does not blink (as it did inside the house).

Question, does glass from the window interfere with motion detection? Can this be fixed?

Do I need to install the camera outside the house, for it to work effectively?

This won't work. Not through glass. You either put the wireless camera outside, unobstructed, or you get an Arlo Q. The Q uses a different sensor that does work through glass, but you won't be able to use its night vision capabilities then, as the IR-LEDs will reflect in the window and blind the camera.
