Camera loses sync

My camera has worked fine since originally installed but recently began losing sync with the base station.  This problem seems spontaneous and my other 3 cameras are unaffected.  It has always linked back up with simply opening the battery door and re-closing it.  This last time this process didn't work.  I've followed all the sync instructions, but the camera never shows the rapid blue light blink.  New batteries didn't help.  Base station is working fine.  Camera is out of warranty.  Any other solutions would be appreciated.

Does it show the slow blue light blink?

@StephenB Yes, there is the slow blue light blink.  That goes on for several minutes then the camera shuts down.  The base unit green sync light is blinking.
