Bought a new camera just before Christmas and only now getting round to adding it but it won’t switch on I’ve charged the batteries and checked they are in the right way but there is no response

What camera?
Are you seeing any light at all when you insert the battery (generally you should see a blinking blue led for a few seconds),

I’ve checked the batteries are fully charged and no lights at all 😞

With the four CR123 batteries? I didn't think you could still purchase new ones.
It's likely too late to exchange with the seller. But if this is new (not used) you should contact support (using the links at the top or bottom of the the forum page)

This has just been taken out of the box as I ordered it then forgot all about it I will definitely speak with support

Make sure you only lightly place the batteries in the slots, paying close attention to polarity. Let the battery door do the pushing. If still no good, clean all contacts in case something may be on them.
