The battery levels in my Arlo cameras never seem to drop...unless I open the battery cover and close it again.
One of my outside cameras still shows 99% [one is at 97] even though it has been pretty at night and I have had the system up and running for 2 weeks at least.
One was showing 68%...I opened the battery door and reclosed and now it is up to 96%
I have installed the latest firmware and the batteries are the original ones supplied with the Arlos
What is going on?

It's a good thing... mostly 🙂
No, many do get rapid drops in batteries( not all usage at times ), but in normal use you should get a long time out of the OEM batteries.
I have one very low use camera that has batteries at 45% today the were installed on last week of March. i will say most of mine run 4 months on best video.
As to the increase in % after opening the battery door.... when you open the battery door, you reset the camera. Now if you use the same batteries the camera will sense the level as new and/or close to full ( it senses the start voltage and works down form there , remember it works with OEM cells at 3.2v new and li-ion cells which are 4.2v off charge )..
If you watch the camera you opened/closed, you'll see the level drop faster than normal as usage goes on... camera drop out ( lack of voltage ) is still about 2.75 to 2.8v on the cells reguardless of which ones used.

I am still not convinced with this issue...my one Arlo cam has been sitting at 83% now for 2 weeks...I removed the batteries , reinserted them and now it sits at 100%...makes absolutely no sense.
My other 3 Arlo cams have also not changed their battery charge in 2 weeks....

guidodg,
Are these cameras detecting motion and producing recordings or are the idle?

definitely not idle...the one that suddenly jumped up in voltage is producing recordings too...

I'm experiencing the same issue with battery level. It never seems to change despite being outdoors in some pretty cold conditions. The camera is not setup to detect motion or record videos but still it's been outside for 1 month and the indicator hasn't moved off of 80%. Based on some of the other posts I'm thinking the circuitry to detect the battery level is not working very well or perhaps the camera uses very little power (which would be awesome!) but I'm not really convinced at this point.

My observation is that temperature has little effect on the battery display. This morning is much warmer than yesterday and the indicator on one camera when up 1% but that's it. Without recording/viewing, the batteries only VERY slowly deplete. My almost-no-activity original wireless camera with non-rechargeable batteries has been hanging at 70% for some time.
