Hi, I have a 4540 Smart Hub and 4 non-wired Arlo and Arlo pro cameras. Previously I had the Netgear hub that flawlessly ran run program/schedules on the cameras but I upgraded to a smarthub in order to support other cameras. Big mistake. I also uploaded the new Arlo app interface, I think it is 4.0.1(5272) and my iPhone is 16.1.1. The problem concerns the new interface in the Arlo app on my phone.
Once cameras were synched with the new Smarthub I had to create new schedules and automations. I have yet to get anything to work to my satisfaction. I am looking for help to get a reliable schedule for my cameras similar to what I previously had. Technical/Customer Service has been no help.
I would like all cameras to trigger if motion is detected in the hours between 11pm - 5am. The rest of the day they should be in Standby.
My Automation:
Camera On 11:00pm
Arm Away
Schedule:
11:00 PM, Everyday
Then:
Record a video camera 1
Record a video camera 2
Record a video camera 3
Record a video camera 4
Send Notification
Camera off 11:59 pm
Stand By
Schedule:
11:59 PM, everyday
Then:
Standby
Camera On 12:00am
Arm Away
Schedule:
12:00 AM, Everyday
Then:
Record a video camera 1
Record a video camera 2
Record a video camera 3
Record a video camera 4
Send Notification
Camera off 5:00 am
Stand By
Schedule:
5:00 AM, everyday
Then:
Standby
Pretty simple. What I get are video from all cameras triggering at 11:00 pm and 12:00am. No notification, and I am unsure if they would trigger for motion between 11:01 and 11:59pm or 12:01 am and 5:00 am as I am not up walking around to test. What am I not understanding in my automation. Thanks

I found this article to explain how it is meant to work. Went over my head, probably was used to the older mode method.

Basically there are only three modes in the new "Feed" experience, and no ability to create new custom ones. You can edit those three modes, as you could before. The names (Armed Home, Armed Away, Standby) and the description in the KB article suggest Arlo's intended usage, but you can set them up any way you like.
The Automations part is where they moved the scheduling - like before, it schedules modes. Also, that is where they moved geofencing.

The new interface does indeed change things up. However, I'm confused as to why/how you got the new interface since that's currently available only for new users or those who are adding a security system or Pro 5 camera.

I purchased a Pro 3 Floodlight Camera and could not get the floodlight programmed. Customer Service had me download the new interface and now I cannot get the schedules to work.

Schedules are set in the Routines section, when Automations is selected. You also need to recreate any modes and rules you used to have by selecting Modes and clicking on the 3 dot menu at the top right. The gear icon on each mode is now editable so add cameras and actions as needed. Click on the 3 dot menu again when done and select Done.

Hello Geru, Thank you for your reply. Would you mind checking the uploaded photos of the automations I created as these are the ones giving me the problem. I checked last night when the camera should have triggered with movement and it did not. I have 4 automations, maybe these should be combined to one? Not sure I can do that.

There are no photos to view. If using iOS, be sure any photos are renamed from "jpeg" to "jpg" or they won't be recognized as valid.

Support had me switch to the new interface to troubleshoot something else, and now I'm in a similar spot where I can't seem to program this the way it was before or how I want.

The new interface doesn't import old modes, partly because there's only 3 available and you can't add new ones. Go to Routines, click on the 3 dot menu icon top right and then the gear on any mode. Add cameras and actions as needed. Click on Done when all modes are correct. If you need to schedule or set up geofencing, select Automations instead of Modes and add as needed. Note that for GF you need to set up one for leaving the house and one for coming back.
