So I have a doorbell with the wires and the battery. But I don't have any single clue how to put it into wire mode. And don't get me started with synchronizing either. Took me 1:30 hours. I wish I was joking. I seriously despise it!
Anyway, got a handy guy to come over and put it on the wire. But how does this work? I can still see the battery function and the battery is at 99%. How does this work? Is it now running on wire or still on battery? Would appreciate it if Arlo made some good guidebooks with the model you have

It depends on the model. The new ones ("Gen 2") tend not to charge for quite a while (that is a strategy to maximize the battery life). They are supposed to start charging when the battery drops to 65% and then charge until it reaches 80%.
Some users have posted different outcomes, but that might not have been with the current firmware.

It runs on the battery, but trickle-charges from the low-voltage AC supplied in the wires as needed.
