Hi all, I have a new arlo 3 camera system and have encountered a problem. I want to be able to switch motion detection on and off for individual cameras manually.  I have emailed and called support but they have not been able to help me. In the instructions, it says that "in cameras display tap mode and a list of cameras displays. click the camera and then click or tap modes to activate..." My problem is that when I tap mode in the cameras page i can only see the base station and not the cameras, they are not listed. Everything else works, the cameras are all installed and working fine and they list under my devices in settings. So, how can i select motion detection for individual cameras? certainly not like it says in the instructions! The support person on the phone just told me that the instructions are wrong and that i shouldnt actually be able to do what is written but surely this cant be right? Help please!

Ok... try this  ( PS... are you using web, IOS, or Android ? )

this is for web browser but others are similar...

Go to MODES (top of page menu )

you should see on left side under DEVICES , your Arlo Base ( and Q cams if any )

If not already showing, click on the Arlo base and your default modes should appear on the right side

If you got this far , at bottom of right side is ADD MODE.  This is what you click on to make a custom mode to control one or more cameras.

I'm right there with you Stevemoore55...no list of cameras as per the instructions, just the base...and the two Q cameras that I paired (synced) directly to my wireless router (not the base station).  My four 'wire-free' cameras at synced with the base station and it looks like we've got to manage their modes and schedules 'through' the base station.  Mode management seems to be okay that way but it looks like all of the schedules are managed through the one Schedule.

The root of our problem would seem to be documentation that's 'off' from reality.  I'm referencing a July '16 user manual and it's not even up to speed with camera syincing.  It says to press and hold the base station sync button for about two seconds when in reality it's just a matter of pressing it and releasing it right away...had to find that out on-line.

I do not even have an "add mode" button.  Don't see it after clicking "shared devices" .  Need to add mode(s) to different camera.  The alerts are driving us nuts but we want the cameras on at different times.  And also want to change the time length of recording from 10 sec. to longer.  cant do it!

Please help if you can.

Mode tab, click on your base.  Use the Add A Mode button at the bottom.  Create the mode and add a rule for one camera.  Save. Reedit the mode and add additional rules for additional cameras as desired. Save each one and do the next.  Any camera with no rule will be disarmed.
