I've had the Arlo system for more than three months now. I've done everything possible to fix the delay but no such luck. I have five cameras three of them outside and two inside the house. The lag is between 2-5 seconds. Once it records the person has already passed the camera. It's useless if you can't record the subject's face and all you get is their back.

The lag time is about normal - 2 seconds is the best you can get.  For indoors you can use the Q cameras which are always streaming (use the CVR option to see 24/7) or reposition your cameras.  Another option is to use a camera to detect motion but another to record - create or edit your rules so Cam1 detects and Cam2 records.  Depending on the exact positioning capabilities, using the camea to capture to subject while exiting the scene rather than entering may be useful.
