Two weeks into my installation and today during a routine check I discover that several of my cameras with previous battery readings of 91%, 92%, and 90% are now suddenly reading 100%.
Anyone else experience this and know what it means (presuming I haven't suddenly begun defying the natural laws of physics).

Same experience here.......I defy the law of physics too. Surprisingly itz only my arlo (and not my arlo pro) that suddenly shoots up to 100% charge for no reason.

It is possible there was a sw update and the battery algorithm was changed

Well, if that's the case, it sure would be nice if Mr or Ms Moderator would chime in and announce it or the Arlo division of Netgear could send out a general e-mail blast announcing it.
What's becoming even more weird is that one of my cameras set, like many of them, to the exact efficency parameters Arlo recommends, after only two weeks is already down to 51% and I don't know why.
So, if it was a firmware update, why is one camera going rogue? Mr. - Ms. Moderator?

The most recent firmware did address an issue with inaccurate battery level reporting on Arlo Wire-Free cameras. Please keep an eye on the cameras over the next couple of days and let me know if you see any unexpected changes.

It would help to know precisely when the firmware update was pushed. My issue began suddenly just a couple of days ago. Was the firmware pushed out at that time?
Also, simultaneous with the sudden seeming increase in battery life from the low 90's to a full 100% one of my cameras which had seen its battery life dropping precipitously in small chunks, unlike my other eight cameras that were holding steady, suddenly dipped a whopping 16% overnight while still set well within Netgear's posted parameters for the four to six month battery life span. Could there be a connection?
At this rate, I won't get more than another two weeks if I'm that lucky.

MikeBravo,
New firmware for the camera was released 7-26-2017. After this update, your cameras should more accurately reflect battery levels.
That big of a dip in battery life could indicate an issue but it could also mean that the battery life was never accurate and after the firmware update it is now showing the accurate battery level.
Consider replacing the batteries in this camera and keep a close eye on it to see if you're still experiencing the same issue.

Thanks for the update. The info was very helpful as that date seems to coincide perfectly with my sudden reversion of battery level back to 100%.
It doesn not explain why the one camera installled at the very same time as the first six and having no more activity than any of the others is burning its batteries so quickly.
Perhaps it is a bad batch or the camera is partially defective. Time will tell.

James,
I just noticed this after in early November on ALL 4 of my cemaras. Mine had been running for about 4 months on a charge and I wanted to get them charged up for the winter. I charged 2 spares and cycled batteries thru 4 cameras so I still have two of the original batteries included so it is not a battery issue. Once I charged them up they have all remainted at 100% for over a month now. Not sure when firmware becomes active - maybe only after you power cycle the camera. SOmething is certainly wrong. This did not affect my Arlo GO camera, but it obviously has differnt firmware. Was there possibly an updte to the Home Base firmware?
I think Netgear should send us a notice ANY time they are updating firmware - OR Better yet allow us the users to have better control of when to deply it similar to the routers. That is a much better approach than having a Netgear Seagull drop on us.

Although this is in the section for the original wireless cameras you seem to have Pro cameras. Are you using the external charger for your batteries? If so, a recharge is different from that in the camera. When charging in the camera, the charge is actually to 80% of capacity while noted as 100% (it's 100% of what it will be charged to, not capacity). In the external tube, the charge goes to 100% of capacity, leading to long periods of 100% being displayed until the charge finally falls below what the camera considers to be full (80% of capacity). Dunno if I've explained this well but hopefully you can figure it out.

I did use the external charger for charging my batteries, whic I have used before to charge batteries. Although I agree they do not come off 100% immediately, they have never gone for a month or longer witout at least moving the needle. It sounds like you are saying that they wouldn;t move the needle until they discharge to 80%. In any case in the ast I do see some movement quicker and they do not all track the same. I will see over the next few weeks how they do. Thanks for that explanation as I was not aware of that.
