After Android app version 6.13.0_6130002 was installed on 1/29/26 , the app is very slow to connect to base unit. Cameras connected via Wi-Fi are fine. Connecting via pc web portal works fine.

I have cleared the cache and also deleted and re-installed app, same results.

Do you mean you're trying to look at local recordings, the base's settings or what? I just looked at mine and had no issues other than needing to refresh the local recordings a few times to see today's videos.

When I open my app on my Android phone it takes 10 - 30 seconds for the base and cameras to be on-line. I did not have to wait before the update.

Hi @J_J_D

After you login is the device showing offline on the thumbnail, or is the app trying to load a thumbnail image and is switches to a blurred image?

It shows blurred images in Android app. It is clear on pc. No changes were made to wi-fi

Same here for the past few app updates.

It's so awful it is essentially broken.  By the time the play button becomes visible on any of my cameras, what I needed to have eyes on right away is history.

How is it that with every successive version of Arlo, functionality and stability takes a serious nose dive?

And why on earth is it so difficult for the devs to show us a camera thumbnail from last time a camera was active?  When I open the app and look at my devices tab, everything is blurred out while it thinks and thinks and thinks and by the time if figures out it what it's supposed to do, I've lost interest and have fallen asleep.  And often when it DOES present an thumbnail for each device, there are always a few various cameras that have some old image from activity hours and hours, or DAYS, in the past.  Not the most recent activity.

I guess the Arlo app can't deal with people who have a lot of cameras.  Perhaps 1 or 2 cameras is their "target audience"...

Ever and always, I rely on my dogs to tell me what's going on.  Used to check cameras when they would bark to alert me, but by the time Arlo spins up my cameras, the trigger is long, long gone.

Arlo never works when I really need it to work anyway.

Thank you, Arlo!

Give it time. I now have 6.16 installed (apparently because I'm an app beta tester) and it's working well for me.

The Arlo development team is currently investigating reports of this behavior. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share with the community.

I have a solution that is far from ideal - on Android, set Arlo app to "keep open"... not pinned, just "keep open".  Think you might have to go into your Android settings and activate allow apps to be pinned, though, to get the keep open option...

After the app settles in, subsequent launches are decent.  I at least do not get blurry thumbnails, I get a real thumbnail, and do not have to wait forever for the play buttons to appear on the cameras...

Is there a reason why Arlo won't thoroughly test before releasing new versions to customers?
