Dear all and special Arlo,

When is Arlo changing the mehod of connecting to WiFi, its is really no fun. To difficult and error sensitive.

I like to change my WiFi SSID and cant get it done.

Removed the Device .

Followed the instructions for add device.

I reset with the pin, press the pin for at least 15 sec. After that a short flashing white led. And press continue in the add device and try to scan the barcode. With IPhone IPads and wont be recognized .

I think it isnt a good stable method.

Pitty you cant do it in a diff way.

Worked for hrs to recognizing the barcode, unf none.

How can I do it flawless?

Dear Stephen and all,

Finally after many many try outs network / device resets its working again.

I understand the LED light status better and know how todo it quicker.

Weird thing is that even with only the (other new named) 2.4 Ghz band on its connecting fine stays offline , did remove device and did it again its found teh device and stays offine.

After multiple tries it finally keeps working now and stays online.

Can you pinch zoom the QR code so the phone can more easily read it? You could also try a screen capture and print it out to make it larger.

Thx I will try to print it out.

And start over again but think also that the Led is not always in the good mode.

After pin rest he blinks a short period only.

And ter some time he is not on and some time later the LED is on continuous

FWIW, this generator should also work, and might be easier to print:

Hey cool thx StephenB,

I can t get it to work. even printed out etc.

Procedure check. I think I am doing wrong.

Goal is a a worked wired essential Arlo doorbel chnaging othet Wifi, I replaced the router with wifi.

I removed the doorbell in the app and start adding a new one.

So I follow the app procedure , the only thing is all is wired and good before so I think I only need to reset the doorbell when the Led light is white.

I do get the doorbell out of the frame and pull in the reset pin in the middle between wires 15 sec at least.

Then he startts flashing white and try to scan the barcode. You dont have much time because he is fast black no light.

Is this the right proceure now? I wander.

Maybe I must disconnetd the doorbell from power en 20 sec and start over.

Who knows the best method? I still think its not a failsafe procedure and old fashion method.

Better within the app with a two way authentication in mail for wifi confirm.

No.

You need to remove the doorbell from the device list in the app if you haven't done that already. Then use add-device to add it back again.  See this:

hey hi Stephen,

Thx, like I wrote above. I did remove the device and start add procedure again.

But I read the article and followed to ad the doorbell and I cant get it done.

As I said when the white led flashing starts and after it I must scan the barcode . No way he is making a sound.

Did this many many times.

Hi Stephen and others,

I am close now. I did removed again and finally somehow I get the scan good working.

Noticed when the instruction is press the doorbell and scan is better then the rese option.

The doorbell is found in the app but didnt connect the Wifi. Still offline mode.

When I try to reset the Wifi by Factory reset it isnt working easy to scan the barcode.

I am looking at that what I must do better.

If you can disable 5 ghz wifi in the router/access point, then try doing that while onboarding.

I will do it.

Btw: The 2.4Ghz band has his own name.  But maybe it helps.

Then it shouldn't be necessary, as long as the phone is connected to 2.4 ghz.

But trying again might work, so good to try.
