I have had three Arlo cameras connected to a Netgear Arlo Base Station VMB4000 for several years with no issues.  I recently added a Wired Video Door Bell AVD1001.  When someone pushes the door bell I get a notification on my phone so I can talk to the person at the door, and it records the person if I push the "Accept" or "Reject" button, but it does not record if I don't push a button or if someone just walk up to the front door.  I have tried every possible combination of modes and settings!  Can anyone give me some advise?

Is the doorbell camera armed?

Also, did you connect it to your VMB4000?  Or to your home wifi?

And you have an active subscription for the doorbell?

Can you make a manual recording while livestreaming the doorbell camera?
