I live in a 1980's home with one of those "fancy" home intercom systems that integrates the doorbell. No standard "chime box" on the wall or separate doorbell transformer in the kitchen or closet. The original doorbell is/was very low voltage and wired along with a speaker/mic system - both of which are almost beyond repair (and manufacturers are out of business).
Nevertheless, the transformer and chime are inside the main intercom panel in the kitchen (built into wall). I can tap into the transformer outlet labeled as 24VAC, 40VA. Test at the output of the transformer is actually 27.0 VAC.
The installation guide reads that VAC to Arlo Doorbell must be between 16 and 24 VAC.
Faced with this, what would you do? Since it's AC, I do not think there would be a voltage drop between the transformer and the front door. Does anyone think 27.0 VAC could damage the Arlo Doorbell?

When you measure the Ac voltage on a transformer it needs to be on a load to meet the voltage specifications.
When unloaded it will measure slightly higher by 10%.
FYI, Measuring DC adaptors should give the correct voltage assuming it has a voltage regulator internally.
So the Ac transformer will meet the voltage required and the VA rating is well above the value needed so good to go.
BTW, You should install the mechanical chime in series with the Ac power to prevent the doorbell from ever shorting out the transformer. Common issue if wired directly to the doorbell unless you have a inline 2A fuse installed to protect the transformer.
