Trying to reset wired video doorbell

I lost the release pin. I can get the cover off with a paper clip but I can’t get it to reset using a paper clip - although it seems like I’m getting the clip in far enough it never displays white on the front. Is there a trick when using a paper clip or is there anyway to get a replacement release pin?

Maybe use a thinner paper clip?

Some phones use a similar device to eject SD and maybe SIM cards.
